Judge Ahmed el-Zend, President of the Egyptian Judges Club.
Judge Ahmed el-Zend, President of the Egyptian Judges Club, confirmed that the club is on good terms with the High Juridical Elections Commission.
“The club is not in a feud with any party” he added.
According to the Middle East News Agency, el-Zend pointed out in a press conference held today at the River Club for Judges, that indicating the violations of the elections does not underestimate neither the value of the High Elections Commission (HEC), nor the effort of its members.
“The club wanted to shed light on some facts in order to improve the election process.” he said
“At the end of the elections, the club will provide the HEC by a document to sum up all the violations and infringements that were directed to the judges who supervised the elections, in order to be used as a guideline for the next elections.” He explained
The first and the second phases of the elections witnessed some complaints from the judges. For example, they complained of the bad means of transportation and the residences that were appointed to them by the HEC. Moreover, they objected to the poor organization and the inappropriate polling stations as well as the vote-count commissions. Also, some judges were attacked by the military police prior to the vote-count of the second phase.
